I live in a place called Rittman in Ohio in the United States of America. A Morton Salt Company is located here because of the vast underground deposits of salt (under the city). Salt deposits are incredibly stable formations in nature (because water would dissolve them, they have been undisturbed for eons) this lends itself to the stability of not only the geography in the area, but the "salt of the earth" community that Rittman is (very stable and very grounded) and salt also lends its protection to the area even thought it's far below the ground (it doesn't pollute the farmland). People raised here many times find themselves returning.
Underground steams and lay lines are of intrest to diviners and many times one can trace them through a city by the decaying housing running in line above them. Other times one can trace cancer in line with the streams/lay lines beneath houses. It's not the sort of thing one notices unless one walks about town, however. I have exorcised this type of thing in the past and continue to do so for a fee or as a public service.
One,also, finds that oil underground gives a Saturnine character to the entire area covering the deposits, just as Rittman is effected by the underground salt deposits. Whole areas in British Columbia have a strange vibration because of the magnetic iron deposits underground. Regular iron deposits give a martial (Mars) feel to an area. At any rate, the areas where oil is found have a strange character.
The people who live above oil deposits, and especially the countries know for their oil (Saudi Arabia contains one quarter of the worlds oil supplies) show that the people living there are at the final stage of putrefaction that exhibits the so-called peacocks tail (i.e. oil on water produces a many-colored slick) and imply that the people attracted to living in these places are ready for distillation, a stage of alchemy. Distillation is consists of repeated purification and repeated heatings and coolings. Just as improper distillation of crude oil produces nothing, the improper distillation of people produces nothing. People in these areas must break free of their Saturanian (lead-like) old-fashioned strictness and examine what they could be if they allowed the changes that looking within produces. Instead of focusing on external religion, and "mere anarchy" they should allow the "quick-silver" changes from within, each individual to produce the "gold" of personal revelation that facing one's internal demons (internal jihad) can bring.
