Descriptions: Magickal, Botanical
This is the premier love root. Just a slight amount of the powder applied to the fingers and touched to the object of your desires is usually all it takes. Orris root mixed with cinnamon is all the more powerful. There is no need to use a large amount of this. Just a small pinch applied to both hands and touched to the object of your desire.
Iris pallida (species) Iridacease (family) also known as orris root, iris, flag iris, pale iris, orris butter (oil).
A perennial plant with sword-shaped leaves and highly scented, pale blue flowers. The fleshy rootstock (rhizomes) grows just below and along the ground. Most commercial orris is produced in Italy where it grows wild.
Other species: Many natural and cultivated species exist. "In Italy the pale iris (I. pallida) is collected indiscriminately with the Florentine orris (I. florentina) which has white flowers tinged with pale blue, and the common or German iris (I. germanica) which has deep purple flowers with a yellow beard." The Encyclopaedia of Essential Oils, Julia Lawless.
Root must age at least 3 years to produce a sented oil.
