Original Sin

  1. When we ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, we caused a separation of balance into "Good" and "Evil".
  2. One thought is that original sin is division, being made of cells and not a solid complete self. Based in part on the idea that god/dess incarnated as a whole (though they looked like humans, any part of their body could be used for any sense.) expressed in The Life and Times of the Masters of the Far East. The ultimate is to create the "diamond" body (the indestructible body) out of the ethers.
  3. Unnatural processes -- the scientist cutting things apart to study just that part separated from the whole. In alchemy, the separation of "things" is by natural means and is more like requesting the help of an elemental than the separation of the elementals.
