Dion Fortune a.k.a. Violet Firth

One of Harold's heroes, oops, heroines, Dion Fortune a.k.a. Violet Firth is, of course, one of magick's stars of the first magnitude. Trained by the likes of Alister Crowley (whom some speculate was the Doctor Travenger of another series of books Dion wrote) and McGregor Mathers (founder of The Golden Dawn). She is the founder of  The Society for the Inner Light, and soror (sister) of The Golden Dawn. She was an excellent scientist, a medical doctor and a depth Freudian analyst. She was a modern lady, saying "Good does not let evil multiply." and her concept of "The Periodic Table of Occult Things."

Far be it from me to criticize anything this Goddess-returned-to-Earth has written.

Dion Fortune has become the mother-lover-friend-child-daughter-master-the everything that the Goddess can be to all people. It is very subtle, but after one reads one of her books, one finds that she has written from every direction possible. So, instead of one point of view, one has has received a composite and the sweet taste of the Goddess still lingers. As a manifestation of Isis and every manifestation of woman, we may never see her like again.

The Mystical Qabalah   is "the text" on the mystic Qabalah.

The Secrets of Doctor Travenger (written in the overly Romantic prose of the time) is a collection of true stories (of Alister Crowley, maybe?) that have been toned down to make them believable.

The Sea Priestess

Psychic Self Defense

Sensible Occultism
