1. An example of god/dess's graciousness.
2. An example of Chessed (on the tree), extreme leniency. Damballa will usually grant her petitioners anything whether it will be good or destructive.
Discussion: One God/desses or Many?or both or neither? How do we resolve this? In answering this question, we will all grow. Perhaps a clue is that humans are so easily dazzled. Miracles are so impressive! Perhaps we need to have some firm idea of what god/dess is. Thus enter any sort of system that allows classification of manifestations: the Kaballa!
Admit it. Most of us wouldn't know a High Angel from a Jinni from a space alien if we met one. Or from God/dess for that matter. Why should these things be so simple when it takes years to understand the calculus? Study! Pay attention in new ways! S/He is there.....
I personally think; other than the difficulties of definition, God wraps himself in mystery as his own version of privacy!
Rootboy Bones says, "The Voodoo god/desses want to step into the modern world and be of help. They would like humans to put aside the tribal fighting and cursing each other. They would like to be liked."
As Ramtha said, "I am the great god Ram. What is wrong with a great god/dess wanting to be as famous and well liked as Michael Jackson?"
Many of the old god/desses played a part (role). They were acting their part in a mystery to be studied by humans. Even though the Greek Gods played parts, they really did not have the human emotions and were not really that way. They were just being a reflection of us making a point so we could understand it. How long has it take humans to understand Jesus? The mysteries are for the most part based on this.
